Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Understanding and knowledge of children, their behavior, and developmentally appropriate practices.
Enrollment in CPR, First Aid, Child Abuse Prevention, and Prevention of Infectious Diseases training (covered by the YMCA).
Warm and friendly personality with a willingness to interact with children.
Meet DCY licensing qualifications in training and background check.

Responsibilities

Assist the Lead Teacher in implementing lesson plans and hands-on learning activities.
Join weekly field trips and ensure children are supervised while having fun.
Attend camp locations, interact with, and supervise students during camp activities like archery, canoeing, and fishing.
Supervise children during free swim and swim lessons, or participate in the water.
Build relationships with students and their families.
Play games, help children build friendships, and be a positive role model.
Serve snacks and lunches.
Perform light cleaning to maintain a clean and inviting space.
