About The Position
The School-Age Assistant Teacher at the Gibbs Community Learning Center will serve as a professional role model for school-aged children. This role involves leading by example, encouraging healthy and safe behaviors, and creating a positive experience while ensuring safety and proper supervision. The position is Monday through Friday afternoons.
Requirements
- At least 18 years old
- High school Diploma
- Ability to be on feet for 3-5 hours at a time leading and participating in activities
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in early care and education setting
Responsibilities
- Assist in implementing curriculum within the established guidelines.
- Contribute to the creation and implementation of daily lesson/activity plans.
- Supervise the children, classroom, and all activities.
- Help make ongoing, systematic observations of each child.
- Maintain positive relationships and effective communication with parents.
- Maintain program site and equipment.
- Maintain required program records.
- Maintain training in First aid, CPR, Communicable Diseases and Child Abuse Awareness as well as 10 hours of Ohio Approved training per year.
- Attend and participate in family nights, program activities, staff meetings, and staff training.
