About The Position

INNOVIM seeks a Scholarship Support Specialist to support NOAA’s Ernest F. Hollings Undergraduate Scholarship Program under the José E. Serrano Educational Partnership Program (EPP) with Minority Serving Institutions (MSI). This position is contingent upon the successful award of the contract. Location: Onsite Silver Spring, MD Relocation Assistance: NONE

Requirements

  • Must have 8 or more years of directly related experience
  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the on-site team lead by maintaining time and attendance and leave calendar for scholarship support contractors, reviewing scholarship support contractor’s reports for accuracy, maintaining internship and mentor spreadsheets for scholars, and filling in for other PMs as needed.
  • Support the student scholarship application, administrative review, and selection processes.
  • Track and monitor student progress in the student scholarship programs.
  • Organize, update, and maintain electronic program files.
  • Review, monitor, and disseminate information to program staff to ensure scholars compliance with NOAA IT (information technology) requirements (e.g., NOAA email policy, annual training).
  • Assist with the preparation of responses to request for information for review and approval by the Program Managers.
  • Maintain, track, and field inquiries from the designated Scholarship phone line regarding NOAA student scholarship programs.
  • Support the scholarship program staff during the student Orientation Program and the Science and Education Symposium.
  • Assist with the planning, scheduling, organizing, and facilitation of Student Scholarship meetings.
  • Participate in student recruitment activities and events.
  • Conduct other education and outreach activities in support of the education and scholarship programs, as needed.
  • Submit content for Office of Education social media and web presence.
  • Work with NOAA Security Office to issue badges for scholars (annually)
  • Draft and prepare correspondence for the Scholarships Program Managers’/OED leadership signature.
  • Maintain a calendar of events, activities, and major deadlines for scholarship programs. Serves as on-site supervisor for junior contractor staff on the team.
  • Maintain a calendar of events, activities, and major deadlines for scholarship programs.
  • Participate in professional development, as appropriate.
