About The Position

RAYUS Radiology is looking for a Scheduling Specialist II to join their team. They are challenging the status quo by shining light on radiology and making it a critical first step in diagnosis and proper treatment. As a Scheduling Specialist II, you will be responsible for providing services to patients and referring professionals by answering phones, managing faxes and scheduling appointments. This role serves as a resource to the Scheduling team and a SME for other departments. This is a full time remote position, working 9a-5:30p CST, Rotating Saturdays.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, or equivalent
  • One (1) year medical scheduling and customer service experience
  • Two (2) years' demonstrated ability to serve as a resource to others and identify process improvement opportunities
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proficient with using computer systems and typing
  • Able to handle multi-level phone system with a high volume of calls at one time

Nice To Haves

  • Two (2) years' medical scheduling and customer service experience
  • Medical terminology and previous clinical business office experience
  • Bilingual

Responsibilities

  • Serves as a SME (Subject Matter Expert) within the department
  • Answer phones and handles calls in a professional and timely manner
  • Maintain positive interactions at all times with patients, referring offices and team members
  • Schedule patient examinations according to existing company policy
  • Ensure all appropriate personal, financial and insurance information is obtained and recorded accurately
  • Ensure all patient data is entered into information systems completely and accurately
  • Ensure patients are advised of financial responsibilities, appropriate clothing, preparation kits, transportation and/or eating prior to appointment
  • Communicate any scheduling changes to technologists in order to ensure the highest level of patient satisfaction
  • Maintain an up-to-date and accurate database on all current and potential referring physicians
  • Handle overflow calls for other Centers within market to ensure uninterrupted exam scheduling for referring offices
  • Provide backup coverage for front office team members as requested by supervisor (i.e., rest breaks, meal breaks, vacations and sick leave)
  • Field 1-800 number calls and routes them to appropriate department and/or team member (St. Louis Park Support Center only)
  • Pre-certify all exams with patient's insurance company as required
  • Verify insurance for same day add-ons
  • Use knowledge of insurance carriers (example Medicare) and procedures that require waivers to obtain authorization, if needed, prior to appointment
  • Function as an internal resource/SME for the team
  • Assist in the training and onboarding of new team members, as applicable
  • Support process improvement initiatives to improve scheduling accuracy and improve patient experience
  • Other tasks and projects as assigned
