About The Position

MTC operates the Inland Empire Job Corps Center in San Bernardino, CA, providing quality services to local youth. This position reports to the academics manager/co-disability coordinator and is responsible for all administrative functions related to processing student schedules and TABE testing administration, ensuring compliance with government and management directives.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent and one year clerical experience.
  • Experience with youth, excellent written and verbal communications skills and computer proficiency required.
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record, unless waived by management.

Responsibilities

  • Operate electronic data processing equipment.
  • Administration of the TABE, Pre-GED; interpret test results and enter testing data in to the computer system.
  • Perform input and make adjustments necessary to ensure student schedules are prepared for each training week.
  • Assist in performing tests on data equipment when error conditions occur to determine the source of malfunction.
  • Review and audit all assigned areas regularly for contractual compliance and effectiveness of delivery of services to students. Prepare related reports.
  • Prepare local CIS reports for distribution to appropriate departments; maintain schedules, rosters, and accountability.
  • Provide form control functions including revising/developing forms, monitoring supplies and reordering forms as needed.
  • Ensure submission of weekly course completions; post required stop dates in appropriate CIS screens.
  • Understand and comply with government and company requirements; report any noncompliance concerning student schedules and progress history to the director of designated school and deputy center director.
  • Ensure that office is clean and attractive at all times; maintain required records.
  • Ensure student information and testing materials are secured to ensure integrity of program.
  • Administer follow up systems and verify accuracy of center reports.
  • Support CDSS by implementing and participating in activities and programs as described in the center’s CDSS plan or as assigned.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work area that models high standards for a work environment.
  • Provide positive, quality customer services to students, staff and other center customers.
  • Participate in student employability programs and activities.
  • Support, promote, and enforce the Job Corps’ Zero Tolerance Policy.
  • Promote the development of Career Success Standards by modeling appropriate behaviors, mentoring students where necessary and monitoring both positive and negative behaviors through interventions.
  • Maintain accountability of students and property; adhere to safety practices.
  • Cultivate and maintain a climate on center which is free of harassment, intimidation and disrespect to provide a safe place for staff and students to work and learn.
  • It is expected that the incumbent shall perform other duties as assigned within his/her capabilities as determined by management.
