About The Position

Christie Clinic's department of Cardiology Diagnostics is seeking a part-time (20 hours/week and benefit eligible) Scheduler at the University clinic from Monday-Friday 8:00am-12:00pm, with no night or weekend requirements. Duties include assisting the department by scheduling procedures and appointments, filling in during the absence of the receptionist and assisting with obtaining prior authorizations from insurance companies.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent

Nice To Haves

• Experience in a medical office setting
• Experience getting prior authorizations and patient insurance benefits
• Microsoft Office experience
• Electronic medical record systems experience

Responsibilities

• Answer phones, schedule appointments, etc.
• Triage phone calls as appropriate.
• Schedule department specific tests, procedures and surgeries within the clinic and coordinate with outside organizations for scheduling of these tests as needed.
• Assist with obtain prior authorizations for cardiac diagnostic testing.
• Provide verbal and written instructions for cardiac diagnostic tests.
• Perform related work as required.
