Under general supervision of the OR Scheduling Manager, follows established policies and procedures, gathers and records all necessary information in the process of scheduling procedures and generating a hospital account. Possesses excellent knowledge and understanding of ICD10 and CPT codes. Responsible for reviewing and analyzing orders to ensure patients are optimized to proceed with needed procedure to accurately schedule highly complex invasive cases and appointments within multiple applications within EPIC. Educates offices, surgeons, and other support staff how to accurately complete case requests and manage their block time. Ensures procedures being scheduled have the appropriate insurance to protect patients from unanticipated financial impacts. Works closely with revenue cycle to optimize financial support for patients. Ensure that cases scheduled across all supported locations (60 plus procedural rooms within Surgical Services, 8 plus procedural rooms within the Cath-Lab, 8 plus procedural rooms within Interventional Radiology, Pre-admission, Pediatric Day Hospital, Pre and Post Care, interpreter services, specialized equipment/supplies, Home Health Care and Financial/Medical clearances) all flow seamlessly these supported areas to avoid delays in patient care in accordance with hospital initiatives. Advocates for patient safety and quality outcomes by confirming surgical credentialing is aligned with procedure being scheduled. Recognizes and adheres to all CMS, JCAHO, and HIPAA requirements when creating a hospital account. Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with the mission, vision and values of Tampa General Hospital.
