About The Position

The scheduler is responsible for scheduling procedures for the Cath/EP/Cardioversion Labs. Other responsibilities include assisting physicians and staff as necessary; providing effective communication within the department; maintaining a safe, orderly office environment; training of new scheduling staff.

Requirements

• High School diploma/GED required
• Previous secretarials/receptionist/customer service role minimum of 2 years experience required.
• Must have above average verbal and written communication skills.
• Must have knowledge and understanding of medical terminology.
• Must be pc computer literate, able to type 50 wpm minimum and have a working knowledge of WordPerfect, Excel and Work applications.
• Must be able to operate communication systems appropriately (beepers, telephones, fax machines, copiers, etc.).
• Must be able to organize work load, accomplish goals and objectives, and meet deadlines.
• Must be able to establish priorities and follow up in problem solving including the ability to adapt to an often stressful and rapidly changing environment.
• Must have quality orientation and be attentive to detail.
• Ability to do problem solving and negotiate for positive results with staff and physicians.
• Absolute confidentiality in the handling of patient records.
• Ability to accurately meet set monthly deadlines.
