About The Position

The Scheduler 2 plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient and effective coordination of appointments, procedures, and resources within a healthcare setting. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or higher preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in healthcare scheduling or a related administrative role.
  • Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and scheduling software.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients and healthcare teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
  • The Scheduler 2 utilizes strong organizational and time management skills daily to coordinate complex appointment schedules that align with both patient needs and provider availability.
  • Effective communication skills are essential for interacting with patients, clinical staff, and administrative personnel to confirm appointments and resolve any scheduling issues promptly.
  • Proficiency with electronic health record systems and scheduling software enables the Scheduler 2 to maintain accurate and up-to-date records, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.
  • Analytical skills are applied to monitor scheduling patterns and identify opportunities for process improvements that enhance operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and schedule patient appointments, procedures, and follow-ups in accordance with clinical guidelines and patient needs.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and administrative teams to confirm appointments and resolve scheduling conflicts.
  • Maintain and update scheduling databases and electronic health records to ensure accuracy and compliance with healthcare regulations.
  • Monitor appointment availability and adjust schedules proactively to optimize resource utilization and reduce patient wait times.
  • Assist in training and supporting junior scheduling staff and contribute to process improvement initiatives within the scheduling department.
