About The Position

The Scaler rotates among various workstations and performs the duties for each station. Other duties may be assigned. This role involves transferring raw product, operating machinery with computer controls, weighing ingredients, and maintaining a clean work area.

Requirements

• Must be able to communicate clearly via phone, in person, and in writing.
• Basic math skills.
• Able to use simple measuring instruments.
• Detail oriented.
• Able to work with minimal supervision.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs. continuously.
• Willing and able to wear Personal Protective Equipment.
• Must be in good physical condition and have good hand dexterity for constant reaching, pushing & pulling motions.
• Must provide government identification number to verify previous Tyson employment history.
• Applicants who have worked for Tyson Foods 3 or more times are not accepted.
• Accepts rehires after 180 days, with Tyson reserving the right to require longer waiting periods or not accept rehires based on the reason for dismissal.
• Must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Transfer raw product from cooler to meat dumper using a walk-behind.
• Control dumper to transfer meat to the hopper using computer controls.
• Maintain a clean work area.
• Weigh out ingredients to specification.
• Transfer pre-weighed ingredients into an ingredient hopper.
