Requirements

Proficient with computers; ability to operate a computerized scale and accurately record transaction data
Strong attention to detail for data entry, billing accuracy, and audit processes
Excellent customer service and communication skills

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or agricultural experience

Responsibilities

Weigh inbound and outbound grain trucks using a computerized scale; log vehicle type, tags, and driver information for each transaction
Probe grain to check moisture levels and grade the amount of foreign materials
Create and print receipts and tickets for customers and location transfers
Verify scale tickets with customers and generate reports as needed
Accurately record weight data for billing purposes and perform regular audits to ensure proper billing
Greet patrons, customers, farmers, and employees promptly and courteously
Answer phones promptly and direct calls as needed
Accept and process payments and assist customers with transaction questions
Perform general clerical duties including filing, answering phones, and running errands
Pick up and drop off mail at the post office as needed
Maintain cleanliness of the office and scale room
