About The Position

This role is for a Scale House Operator who will be responsible for managing the flow of trucks in and out of the terminal, ensuring accurate record-keeping, and serving as the primary point of contact for drivers and visitors. The position offers ownership of the scale house operations, training on SAP Business One, and opportunities for growth within a developing terminal operation. It emphasizes being a key player in a small team with a significant impact.

Requirements

Experience in scale operations, shipping and receiving, dispatch, logistics coordination, or a similar yard/office role.
Sharp attention to detail with accurate data entry.
Comfortable with computers and learning new systems (Outlook, Excel, Teams).
Clear, friendly communicator who can handle a busy gate.
Able to work on-site in an industrial/port environment.
High school diploma or GED.
Valid driver's license.

Nice To Haves

SAP, NetSuite, Epicor, or similar ERP experience
Bulk materials background (salt, aggregates, grain)
Port, maritime, or freight terminal experience
Existing TWIC card
Familiarity with BOLs and shipping documentation

Responsibilities

Weigh and process inbound and outbound trucks accurately using the scale system and SAP.
Coordinate daily truck, vessel, and visitor flow and communicate it to the team.
Process Bills of Lading and shipping documents.
Manage on-site inventory accuracy through cycle counts, FIFO loading, and reconciliation.
Support site-level AR and AP, including purchase orders, invoice matching, and basic financial recordkeeping.
Serve as a professional and welcoming point of contact for drivers, customers, vendors, and vessel crews.
Follow and exemplify safety procedures.
Assist with site operations when coverage is needed.
