About The Position

Amrize Canada is looking to fill a Scale Attendant position in the Lower Mainland. The Scale Attendant is responsible for tracking and directing trucks, and for scaling/ticketing trucks as they leave our sites. This role ensures the adherence and enforcement of Amrize safety policies, procedures, and processes with all fill site and haul trucks, drivers, and operators. Working in a fast-paced environment, speed, accuracy, and attention to detail are essential. The individual must be an excellent team player, utilizing strong organization and communication skills to coordinate trucks and work with dispatch to ensure deliveries are “On-Time, In-Full, Ticketed Correctly”. The employee will handle day-to-day office duties, ensuring efficiency and accuracy. Computer competency and the ability to learn in a fast-paced environment are a must.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Valid Driver's License Required
  • Computer Competency required (experience with Microsoft Office Excel, Google Drive)
  • Vehicle required and ability to travel to different work sites.
  • Must be computer literate (job requires use of Microsoft Office, SAP, Google Drive, APEX ticketing).
  • Strong safety mindset.
  • Work well under pressure.
  • Self-motivated, good organizational skills.
  • Good time management skills.
  • Understanding of basic logistical flow of haul trucks.
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
  • A pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol testing and a criminal record check, will be required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in construction industry an asset: EG - Flagging, Scaling.
  • Experience with Ticketing of trucks and Weigh Scaling an asset
  • First Aid Certification is a bonus.
  • Basic knowledge of products and industry terminology preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Weigh and Tare trucks accurately.
  • Enter material and dump tickets correctly into the system.
  • Complete and maintain tracking sheets for all materials and dump loads.
  • Process cash sale transactions efficiently.
  • Track, reconcile, and report on COD (Cash on Delivery) sales.
  • Fax tracking sheets and other documents to customers as needed.
  • Sort and distribute incoming mail.
  • Manage Field Level Risk Assessments and log contractor hours.
  • Monitor and restock office supplies; assist with other administrative tasks as required.
