About The Position
Waste Connections of Rhode Island has an immediate opening for a Scale Attendant to join the team at our transfer station in North Smithfield, RI. The pay rate is $23.00 per hour. The schedule is Monday through Friday 5:45 AM- 3:30 PM and every other Saturday 5:45 AM to 3:30 PM.
Requirements
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast paced work environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word & Excel.
- Must have flexible availability to include weekends.
Responsibilities
- Greet and direct all customers and employees upon entry of the transfer station.
- Track weight information from scale to computer system and get appropriate signatures.
- Calculate payments for customers.
- Closing duties include balancing cash drawer, as well as reconciling the credit card machine or POS system.
- Ensure incoming garbage loads are safe and do not contain any inappropriate material.
- Approach all encounters with employees, customers, and vendors in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
