About The Position
The Scale Operator is responsible for monitoring all truck traffic, accurately recording load data, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations. This role is covered under a Labor Union / Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA). The pay rate and benefits will be according to CBA for the role. The hourly rate for this position is $25.87 (per hour).
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1–3 years of administrative, clerical, or accounting experience.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Strong organization, attention to detail, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel); experience with records systems preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
- Bilingual skills a plus.
Responsibilities
- Weigh and document all inbound and outbound truck loads.
- Review driver Origin & Destination (O&D) forms and verify load compliance.
- Enter load data into internal systems and maintain accurate scale tickets and records.
- Communicate tonnage and operation updates to internal teams.
- Enforce DEP regulations and site safety requirements, including PPE use.
- Maintain a clean and orderly scale house and perform routine walkdowns.
- Provide customer service to drivers, vendors, and the public.
- Report operational issues or irregularities to supervision.
- Support special projects and work additional hours as needed.
