About The Position

Wasco County Landfill, a Waste Connections company is looking for a Scale House Cashier to join our team in The Dalles, Oregon. Schedule is Monday-Friday with occasional Saturdays as needed. Shift is 5:15 AM - 2:30 PM & 6:30 AM - 4:00 PM Hourly wage is $21.00/HR Why you need to join us! • CULTURE: It’s a Great place to work! A Day in the Life of a Scale House Attendant/Office Personnel: Greet and direct all customers and employees upon entry of the landfill. Weighing vehicles as the enter and leave. Calculating payments for customers depending on weight disposed of at landfill. Ensure incoming customer loads are safe and do not contain any hazardous or inappropriate material. Assisting with office duties and projects as needed. Approach all encounters with employees, customers, and vendors in a friendly, service-oriented manner. Requirements

  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced work environment, with great customer service.
  • Ability to operate a credit/debit card machine
  • Ability to count cash drawer and balance the till at the end of every shift.
  • Proficient computer understanding of Microsoft Word & Excel is helpful, but willing to train.
  • Must have flexible availability to include some Saturdays.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • 10 Key Proficient.
  • Employment eligibility dependent upon criminal background report and pre-employment drug panel screening.
  • Safety Sensitive: YES

  • Proficiency in English & Spanish preferred.
