About The Position

The Scaffolding Journeyman performs work involving the erection and dismantling of scaffolding, operation of heavy equipment, rigging equipment loads, and completion of construction projects. This is a skilled role that may require a high school diploma or equivalent and previous experience in the field or a related area. The position requires strong job-related knowledge and the ability to communicate and follow written and oral instructions.

Requirements

• May require a high school diploma or equivalent and previous years of experience in the field or a related area.
• Strong working knowledge, skills, and abilities relevant to the position.
• Ability to understand, follow, and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively with management and supervision.
• Proficiency in the safe and efficient use of electrical, hand, power, layout, and measurement tools.
• Must have required tools.
• Must pass Fit For Duty Testing and pre-access drug and alcohol testing.
• A U.S. driver's license may be required.
• Able to move items weighing up to 50 pounds across a construction or industrial site, if required.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and specifications to determine the scope of work, including locations and the quantities and sizes of materials required.
• Identify required tools and measure, mark, and cut wooden or metallic materials to specifications.
• Erect and disassemble scaffolding for buildings and other structures, including installing ladders, handrails, walkways, platforms, and gangways.
• Construct, reinforce, and dismantle pre-constructed scaffolds.
• Build wooden scaffolds and auxiliary items.
• Rig equipment loads.
• Estimate sizes, distances, quantities, time, costs, resources, or materials needed to perform work activities.
• Inspect subordinate employees' work for compliance with contract plans and specifications, identify deficiencies, explain them, and take corrective action as needed.
• Observe and comply with safety and project rules and perform other duties as required.
