About The Position
The Scaffold Helper assists scaffold builders and craft personnel with the assembly, modification, inspection, and dismantling of scaffolding systems used in industrial and construction environments. This position performs manual labor, material handling, and general support duties while maintaining compliance with all safety regulations, company policies, and site-specific requirements.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous industrial, construction, or labor experience preferred but not required.
- Ability to pass all required pre-employment screenings and site-specific requirements.
- Must be able to work in outdoor environments and varying weather conditions.
- Must be able to physically perform duties requiring lifting, climbing, bending, stooping, and prolonged standing.
- Ability to obtain and maintain required safety certifications.
- Basic understanding of construction and industrial work environments.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and safe work practices.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Knowledge of common hand tools and equipment preferred.
- Ability to identify and report unsafe conditions.
- Dependable attendance and punctuality.
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn scaffold building techniques and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Assist scaffold builders with the erection, modification, and dismantling of scaffolding systems.
- Load, unload, transport, stage, and organize scaffold materials and equipment.
- Clean and maintain work areas, tools, and equipment.
- Inspect scaffold components for damage and report deficiencies to supervision.
- Assist in securing scaffolding materials and maintaining proper housekeeping standards.
- Follow all company, customer, and site-specific safety procedures.
- Participate in safety meetings, training, and job briefings.
- Wear and maintain required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Support other craft personnel as directed by supervision.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
