About The Position

Austin Industrial is seeking a Scaffold Builder to construct, assemble, maintain, and dismantle tubular scaffolding and other temporary structures. The role requires a minimum of 3 years of experience in the scaffolding craft. The employee must work safely at heights, identify and address hazards, and follow OSHA, site-specific, and Austin Industrial requirements. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

At least 3 years of experience in the scaffolding craft.
Legally authorized to work for any employer in the United States; Austin Industrial cannot sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa.
Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, including regularly lifting or moving up to 25 pounds and frequently lifting or moving up to 50 pounds.
Vision abilities including close and distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

Work at heights without fear.
Determine the type of scaffold needed.
Inspect the job site and scaffold materials for defects and safety hazards.
Communicate safety hazards and mitigate avoidable hazards before scaffold construction.
Transport scaffold or other structural materials and erect scaffolding to required dimensions.
Hoist scaffolding materials to erect temporary structures.
Secure and level locking sections of scaffolding material.
Secure scaffolds to permanent structures for stability.
Follow OSHA, site-specific, and Austin Industrial requirements for erecting and navigating scaffolding.
Perform a final inspection of completed scaffolding.
Dismantle scaffolding when instructed after proper communication.
Inspect and properly stow scaffolding materials after dismantling.
