About The Position

Austin Industrial is seeking a Scaffold Builder to construct, assemble, maintain, and dismantle tubular scaffolding and other temporary structures. The role requires at least three years of experience in the scaffolding craft. The employee must be able to work at heights and follow OSHA, site-specific, and Austin Industrial requirements when erecting and navigating scaffolding. Applicants must be legally authorized to work for any employer in the United States; Austin Industrial cannot sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for this position.

Requirements

At least 3 years of experience in the scaffolding craft.
Ability to work at heights without fear.
Legal authorization to work for any employer in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.
Regularly lift or move up to 25 pounds and frequently lift or move up to 50 pounds.
Required vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Regularly sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Frequently stand, walk, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk or hear, and taste or smell.

Responsibilities

Determine the type of scaffold needed.
Inspect the job site and scaffold materials for defects and safety hazards.
Communicate safety hazards and mitigate avoidable hazards before construction.
Transport scaffold or other structural materials and erect scaffolding to required dimensions.
Hoist materials to erect temporary structures.
Secure and level locking scaffold sections.
Secure scaffolding to permanent structures for added stability.
Follow OSHA, site-specific, and Austin Industrial requirements for erecting and navigating scaffolding.
Perform a final inspection of completed scaffolding.
Dismantle scaffolding when instructed after proper communication.
Inspect and properly stow scaffold materials after dismantling.
