The position is non-exempt and reports to a Frontline Supervisor. The work involves assembling, positioning, modifying, and dismantling scaffolding according to job specifications and under frequent supervision.
Requirements
- High school or equivalent
- One to four years of experience in specified skill (depending on mechanic level)
- Ability to operate different types of Forklift
- Written pre-employment qualification test
- Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation
- Job site safety requirements as required by the client (clean shaven, long sleeves, steel toe boots, etc.)
- Safety equipment as required by the client (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, respirator, hearing protection, safety harness with lanyard, etc.)
- Applicant/employee must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace
- Employee may be required to provide the following: toolbox, tool belt, adjustable wrench, ratchet wrench with socket, claw hammer, cutting pliers, torpedo level, tape, and rain suit
Nice To Haves
- Ability to read engineered drawings preferred
- National Certification preferred (may be required by client)
Responsibilities
- Assembles, positions, modifies, and dismantles scaffolding to job specifications.
- Inspects surface for holes, objects, and levelness.
- Assembles scaffold consisting of guardrails, mid-rails, braces, planks, toe boards, screens and/or wheels.
- Positions scaffold by rolling it into place or erecting in place.
- Secures scaffold to permanent structure if required.
- Performs other assembly types which may include hard barricades, strong backs, engineered scaffold, stairways, etc.
- Performs additional assignments per supervisor's direction.
