About The Position

The Scaffold Builder assists with the construction, assembly, maintenance, and dismantling of tubular scaffolding and other temporary structures. The role involves working at heights, transporting and hoisting scaffolding materials, erecting and securing scaffold sections, and conducting inspections. Employees must follow OSHA, site-specific, and Austin Industrial requirements. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

Must be able to work at heights.
Must bring basic hand tools to the site.
Applicants must be legally authorized to work for any employer in the United States; Austin Industrial cannot sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa.
Able to sit, stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, and use hands and fingers to perform assigned duties.
May be required to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds and work at elevations, on uneven surfaces, or in confined spaces.
Must have sufficient visual, hearing, communication, and motor skills to safely perform job responsibilities.
Must be able to read, comprehend, and follow safety procedures, work instructions, and company policies; exercise sound judgment; solve problems; maintain attention to detail; manage stress; and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced work environment.

Nice To Haves

2–3 years of scaffolding experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Determine the type of scaffold needed.
Transport tubular scaffold or other structural materials and erect scaffolding as instructed by the scaffold builder.
Hoist scaffolding materials to construct temporary structures.
Secure and level locking sections of scaffolding material.
Secure scaffolding to permanent structures for added stability.
Follow OSHA, site-specific, and Austin Industrial requirements for erecting and navigating scaffolding.
Dismantle scaffolding when properly instructed to do so.
Inspect and properly stow scaffolding materials after dismantling.
Perform a final inspection of completed scaffolding.
Perform other duties as assigned.
