About The Position

A Scaffold Builder Lead directs a crew in the Foreman’s absence and is responsible for directing personnel in the safe execution of the site-specific scope of work items outlined in the contract documents. This role involves working according to sketches or blueprints, or while adhering to client, OSHA, and company standards. Essential functions include following verbal directions, heavy lifting, kneeling, squatting, climbing, performing duties for extended periods, cleaning up work areas, communicating regularly with the Field Foreman, ensuring work continues in the Foreman's absence, complying with safety policies, maintaining reliable attendance, keeping a clean and safe work environment, working unsupervised, and wearing all required PPE. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

Minimum 3-4 years of scaffold experience
Minimum 1 year experience with Apache.
Able to give clear and concise instructions to multiple employees in the execution of work.
Possess the ability to maintain basic field equipment such as air compressors, man lifts, forklifts and etcetera.
Must be able to wear all required PPE.
Must be able to work in high noise volumes, toxic or caustic chemicals, fumes, airborne particles, dusty conditions, hazardous machinery, precarious places, proximity to other employees.

Responsibilities

Directing personnel in the safe execution of site-specific scope of work items.
Ensuring work continues in the Foreman's absence.
Communicating regularly with the Field Foreman regarding issues and concerns on the job site.
Maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
Interpreting erection drawings.
Inspecting every scaffold component to verify good condition and integrity, removing any defective components.
Ensuring all scaffolds are erected/dismantled in accordance with industry standards and manufacturer, OSHA, Apache, and client’s recommendations/requirements.
Inspecting completed scaffolds thoroughly prior to tagging.
Updating scaffold-tags at the beginning of each shift, or more frequently if required.
Transporting materials to the site and erecting scaffolds to the dimensions required.
Utilizing fall protection to secure self, tools, and materials.
Hammering material to each locking section.
Erecting scaffolding, installing ladders, handrails, and platforms/catwalks needed to access work areas.
Maintaining a positive attitude with crew members.
Ensuring good housekeeping is performed throughout the entire project.
