About The Position

The Scaffold Builder/Erector Helper supports scaffold builders and other workers in selecting, preparing, assembling, and erecting structural frameworks and scaffolding. The role involves handling materials, tools, equipment, and supplies, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. It typically requires a minimum of six years of industrial construction experience.

Requirements

• Typically requires a minimum of 6 years of industrial construction experience.
• Ability to safely traverse uneven terrain while carrying tools and building materials.
• Ability to climb vertical ladders and work above or below ground as necessary.
• Ability to safely use hand tools and operate power tools and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with scaffold builders and others to perform tasks.
• Select building materials of the proper size and type according to project specifications and dimensions.
• Plan installations to avoid obstructions and interference with other workers’ activities.
• Assemble cut and shaped materials by fastening them with nails and scaffold pins.
• Verify that structures are true using a plumb bob and carpenter’s level.
• Erect frameworks for structures.
• Erect scaffolding and ladders for assembling structures above ground level.
• Load, transport, and unload materials, tools, equipment, and supplies.
• Assist with lifting, positioning, and securing materials and work pieces during installation.
• Clean tools and equipment and perform minor maintenance activities.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Restock supplies and materials as necessary.
• Use hand tools dexterously and safely operate power tools and equipment.
• Adhere to all safety procedures.
