About The Position

The SCADA Specialist maintains the plant and field SCADA systems assigned to them to provide a safe and compliant operation of the assets. This role deploys and manages domain-based automation systems using active directory and advanced process control applications. The specialist designs, implements, and supports the AVEVA SCADA Systems for gas processing plants and gathering systems. They are responsible for maintaining program records, files, backups, and necessary licenses associated with SCADA management servers, control system servers, HMI equipment, and associated OT networking equipment for the plant and field control systems in their assigned area. Formal Aveva training and experience is required. The role involves SCADA integration, system programming, and commissioning of new facilities and other projects. The SCADA Specialist acts as a subject matter expert regarding the establishment of SCADA system standards, implementation, and evaluation. They collaborate closely with other departments (IT, OT, Automation, Measurement, E&I, Operations, Marketing, and Engineering) to leverage automation and technology for business objectives. The position assists in estimating for budgetary planning for control system upgrades, projects, software support, and licensing. They respond to emergency or urgent issues regarding facility control and communication systems and perform related duties as assigned by the Manager. Maintaining compliance with all company policies and procedures is essential.

Requirements

  • Relevant experience and knowledge with AVEVA / Wonderware System Platform, including object development and standardization experience.
  • Relevant experience and knowledge in commonly used industrial communication standards such as OPC and SuiteLink and associated software.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
  • Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel, Outlook and TEAMS).

Nice To Haves

  • Formal AVEVA / Wonderware System Platform training.
  • Previous experience developing multiple SCADA systems.
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science.
