About The Position

This role involves researching architecture standards based on industry best practices, adhering to corporate security policies, and meeting business requirements. The engineer will act as a subject matter expert in multi-platform enterprise information systems, assisting in the design and implementation of major SCADA systems hardware/software. Responsibilities include monitoring solutions to minimize outages, performing root cause analysis, troubleshooting complex technical issues, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The role also involves developing and maintaining standardized code for communications between field remote terminal units (RTUs) and SCADA hosts, and implementing infrastructure capacity planning recommendations. Understanding business partners' technical requirements, participating in technology initiatives, and proactively anticipating technical issues are key aspects. The engineer will provide technical support for on-call personnel, communicate team objectives to business partners and vendors, share knowledge, and report on action plan status to management. Driving results includes prioritizing work, evaluating outcomes, and adjusting schedules to meet deadlines. The position requires 24x7 on-call support.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated knowledge of SCADA technologies and industry best practices.
  • Technical proficiency in SCADA system and operating software and administration.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and communicate with all levels in the organization.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of field SCADA hardware and ability to provide technical support.
  • Must possess working knowledge of multiple complex SCADA field device protocols (BSAP, ROC, etc.).
  • Working knowledge of communications / systems networking.
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage business applications for competitive advantage.
  • MS Word - intermediate proficiency
  • MS Excel - intermediate proficiency
  • MS Visio - intermediate proficiency
  • MS PowerPoint - intermediate proficiency
  • Minimum of two years college, preferably in a technology discipline.

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of domain administration, network security and windows platform best practices.
  • BA/BS degree in Engineering, Information Technology or equivalent discipline and SCADA Systems Administration, or Network/Security certification

Responsibilities
