About The Position

ENGIE North America (ENA) is seeking qualified candidates for an Advisor role within the IT and Digital organization. As a SCADA Engineering Advisor, you will support SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) and Substation Automation Protection and Controls projects for renewable generation (Wind and Solar) in North America (USA and CANADA). The position is based in Houston, TX and you will report to Head of SCADA Engineering.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in which you completed courses in Automation and Controls Engineering, Power Electronics Engineering, Computer Programming Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • A minimum of 7 years of Industrial Automation working experience in the Power Sector or related industry
  • Proficient in AVEVA Wonderware System Platform (2017-2023) and experience in programming Wonderware System Platform (Galaxy Repository, Object oriented programming and historian).
  • Experienced in development of process graphics in InTouch HMI, Factory Talk as well as Power-BI dashboards.
  • Experience in programing Schweitzer (SEL) protection relays SEL-351, SEL-487, including RTAC-3530(preferred)
  • Experience in PLC hardware and maintenance for PLC’s Allen-Bradley Control Logix, ABB PLC and experience programming PLC ladder logic, functional blocks
  • Experience in object-oriented programming
  • Experience with DNP3, MODBUS, and OPC protocols
  • Kep-server experience
  • Excellent written communication skills utilizing Microsoft Office Suite applications, especially Excel and Power Point
  • Ability to work without supervision

Responsibilities

  • Assist with engineering analysis, design review and commissioning of renewable energy projects (including Wind, Solar PV, Solar PV + Energy Storage)
  • Assist in commissioning of wind, solar photovoltaic systems and energy storage system (PV-ESS)
  • Become familiar with ENGIE Cyber Security framework and support compliance in all the renewable projects.
  • Prepare performance monitoring tools and programming applications
  • Travel to remote sites to assist project commissioning and signal check-out activities of SCADA communications.
  • Record specification designs, drawings, bills of materials and test data.
  • Create test procedures to verify hardware and software designs.
  • Ensure engineering design comply with UL, IEEE, ISA requirements
  • Build and retain critical vendor relationships in support of the Asset Optimization business unit
  • Carry out other duties as assigned
