About The Position

Designs, develops, tests, maintains, and supports control and automation systems for gas distribution and water treatment processes. The role includes analyzing system requirements; developing control system architectures and PLC programs; integrating instrumentation and control devices; optimizing process control strategies; and supporting upgrades to municipal water treatment plants and gas metering stations. The engineer also documents system designs and modifications, verifies that systems function correctly, diagnoses issues, and works with engineers and stakeholders to integrate control systems into larger projects. Systems must comply with applicable municipal codes, environmental regulations, safety standards, and cybersecurity practices for critical infrastructure. The position works with Corporate Engineering to standardize PLC programs, address the effects of process changes, resolve issues, and follow Management of Change procedures.
