About The Position

Northrop Grumman is seeking an SCA Engineering Technician 4 through the Military Internship Program (NG-MIP), an approved SkillBridge Program. This program offers transitioning service members valuable civilian work experience during their last 6 months of service, up to 180 days. Participants continue to receive military compensation and benefits. The internship is an entry to mid-level career type role, with a work schedule equivalent to 40 hours per week. The program aims to provide fellowship-style job skills training, with the potential for full-time transition after completion, serving as a pipeline for motivated military candidates. Interns will receive comprehensive training including professional development, leadership networking, and specific training on NG leadership principles, company history, customer engagement, product overviews, and core job responsibilities. The goal is to offer a rewarding opportunity to join the Northrop Grumman team.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree in an appropriate technical discipline and Two (2) years of specialized experience OR Six (6) years of relevant experience w/o any formal education
  • Strong background in Avionics
  • Current US DOD SECRET security clearance
  • Working knowledge of IMDS/CAMS maintenance data collection
  • A basic knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Certified UAV Technician / Aircraft Electronics Technician
  • Has served at least 180 days on active duty
  • Is within 12 months of separation or retirement
  • Will receive an honorable discharge
  • Has taken any service TAPS/TGPS
  • Has attended or participated in an ethics brief within the last 12 months
  • Received Unit Commander (first O-4/Field Grade commander in chain of command) written authorization and approval to participate in DoD SkillBridge Program prior to start of internship

Nice To Haves

  • Prior RQ-4 maintenance experience
  • (FAA) Airframe and Power plant (A&P) desired
  • Working knowledge of Air Force Instruction 21-101 (Aircraft and Equipment Maintenance Management)

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical advisor support and technical application/insight to Government personnel.
  • Augment Government personnel and perform scheduled & unscheduled maintenance, servicing, etc.
  • Conduct technical analysis of product implementations, modifications, and enhancements.
  • Troubleshoot technical problems and issues, determine technical solutions, and recommend actions.
  • Assess product needs in accordance with customer specifications.
  • Conduct informal (e.g., over-the-shoulder) training for Government personnel.
  • Provide data in support of, and review engineering investigations.
  • Act as an engineering liaison between NG engineering and the USAF, coordinating requests for depot-level repairs, electronic data, and log/fault files.
  • Perform depot-level FSR-only tasks and depot-level Time Compliance Technical Orders.
  • Note recurring discrepancies or trends and initiate appropriate actions.
