About The Position

BAE Systems is seeking Nato Sea Sparrow Missile System Technicians with experience in performing comprehensive equipment and system level maintenance for the Ship’s Self Defense and radar systems found aboard Aircraft Carriers and large deck Amphibious Assault class ships, to be part of our experienced technical team at the Surface Combat Systems Center (SCSC) in Wallops, Island, VA. The SCSC is located on a barrier island on the Eastern Shore of Virginia and is a tenant of the NASA’s Wallops Flight Facility. SCSC provides live combat systems suites with platform specific radars and sensors and supports the following functions: combat system lifetime support engineering, platform certification, operational and technical evaluation, combat system training, interoperability testing and participates in at-sea exercises. SCSC provides a high-fidelity representative combat system of every ship in the AEGIS, Ship Self Defense System (SSDS) fleet today and those planned in the future. The selected candidate will have experience on one or more of the following systems: MK-91 Mod 2 GMFCS and MK-57 Variants Schedule planned maintenance actions utilizing SKED program in accordance with the Navy’s Maintenance Material Management (3M) system and also be responsible for documenting all maintenance actions, including repair part requisitions, using the OMNS-NG program.

Requirements

  • High School/GED and at least 2 years demonstrated experience assessing, troubleshooting, and performing corrective maintenance and preventive maintenance.
  • PQS 301 qualification is required.
  • Must be willing and able to obtain PQS 301 qualification within 3 months of employment.
  • Must be willing and able to perform in a variety of 40 hour work-week configurations, including: 1. Monday-Friday (5 x 8): 1st Shift 2. Monday-Friday (5 x 8): 2nd Shift 3. Some weekend shifts may be needed to support operations 1st or 2nd shift
  • Must be a US citizen to obtain a security clearance.
  • High School/GED and at least Seven (2) years demonstrated experience assessing, troubleshooting, and performing corrective maintenance and preventive maintenance on NSSMS systems and equipment to include MK-91 MOD 2 GMFCS and MK-57 Variants at the organizational level, using ordnance publications, circuit diagrams, and other appropriate documentation.
  • Must be willing and able to perform in a variety of 40 hour work-week configurations, including: 1. Monday-Friday (5 x 8): 1st Shift 2. Monday-Friday (5 x 8): 2nd Shift 3. Some weekend shifts may be required.
  • Must be able to obtain a Secret level clearance.
