The Drafter/CAD Operator II prepares drawings and computer models for construction projects, components, and assemblies. Work includes creating multiple views, sectional profiles, irregular or reverse curves, hidden lines, and intricate details using conventional drafting and CAD techniques and occupational terminology and procedures. The operator performs arithmetic computations using standard formulas. Simple revisions may be explained verbally, while more complex revisions are based on sketches, computer models, or specifications that clearly show the desired result. Typical work may include preparing views of simple gear systems from layouts and manuals and deriving dimensions and tolerances; preparing or revising detail and design drawings for electrical or electronic equipment, plant wiring, and printed circuit board manufacture and assembly; and creating drawings for bridges, other structures, highway construction, or maps showing water and sewage line locations. The position is part of Parsons’ Federal Solutions team, which provides services and solutions to U.S. government customers in defense, security, intelligence, infrastructure, and environmental areas. No security clearance is required.
