About The Position

The SCA is seeking an Expeditor to support the review, submission, and tracking of permits and approvals with New York City agencies. This position plays a key role in ensuring documentation is accurate, complete, and processed efficiently to support project and compliance requirements. This is an office-based role located at SCA Headquarters with no field travel required. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience performing construction document review, zoning compliance reviews, permit filing activities, approval tracking, and researching property status records.
  • Working knowledge of New York City permitting and regulatory processes preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with city agencies, applicants, and project teams.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and online permitting systems.

Responsibilities

  • Review permit applications, filings, and supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness prior to submission.
  • Guide applicants and project stakeholders through filing procedures and agency requirements.
  • Coordinate the delivery and submission of documents to various city agencies for review and approval.
  • Partner closely with Plan Examiners and agency representatives to facilitate code compliance and approval processes.
  • Research and monitor permit, approval, and status information through city agency records and databases.
  • Track submissions and approvals to ensure timely processing and resolution of outstanding issues.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to permitting and regulatory activities.
  • Perform additional administrative and project support duties as assigned.
