About The Position

Candidates who express an interest may be considered for future positions at Northrop Grumman. Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Sector is seeking an SCA Aircraft Mechanic 2 or SCA Aircraft Mechanic 3 to join our team of qualified individuals within our Flight Operations organization. This position will be located at Ellsworth AFB, SD. Please note that this opportunity is contingent on program funding. Start dates are determined after funding confirmation.

Requirements

High School Diploma/GED with minimum 4 years of experience in civilian or military aviation maintenance (for SCA Aircraft Mechanic 2)
High School Diploma/GED with minimum 6 years of experience in civilian or military aviation maintenance (for SCA Aircraft Mechanic 3)
Must be able to travel up to 25% of the time
Must be willing to travel for training to various locations for initial training which will take 24 weeks minimum prior to relocating to the permanent location
Must be able and willing to work on an aircraft flightline year-round, across all three shifts and weekend duty.
Ability to transfer and maintain the final adjudicated U.S. government Secret clearance (must be in-scope or enrolled in Continuous Evaluation) and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the Company.
U.S. Citizenship is required for all positions with a government clearance and certain other restricted positions.

Nice To Haves

USAF or equivalent experience as one of the following: Airframe & Powerplant General, Hydraulics Mechanic, Flightline Jet Engine Mechanic, Fuels Systems Mechanic, Egress Systems Mechanic, Back shop Armament Systems Mechanic, Low Observables Maintenance

Responsibilities

Troubleshoots, repairs and services aircraft and engine systems.
Conducts diagnosis of malfunctions.
Performs maintenance, disassembly, rework, repair, replacement, re-assembly or adjustment of various aircraft systems in accordance with technical specifications, engineering instructions, and FAA regulations.
Maintains Customer required records, manuals and inspection forms.
Provides on-the-job training to customer personnel per customer needs.
