The SBA Liquidation Specialist is responsible for the administration, collection, liquidation, recovery, and resolution of delinquent and defaulted government-guaranteed loans, with primary emphasis on SBA 7(a) loans. This position manages all aspects of the workout and liquidation process, including borrower negotiations, collateral disposition, recovery strategies, litigation coordination, guaranty purchase requests, and charge-off recommendations. The SBA Liquidation Specialist ensures compliance with current SBA Loan Program Requirements, SBA Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and all applicable regulatory guidelines to preserve the SBA guaranty and protect the Credit Union’s interests. The role is responsible for developing and executing effective recovery strategies that maximize recoveries while minimizing losses. In addition, the SBA Liquidation Specialist works closely with the Chief Credit Officer and other lending and credit personnel in the evaluation, administration, and resolution of complex conventional workout relationships. The position provides expertise and recommendations regarding complex problem loans, restructures, collection strategies, collateral liquidation, recovery efforts, and risk mitigation strategies for troubled credits across the loan portfolio.
