The SBA Eligibility Review Officer I is responsible for reviewing SBA & USDA guaranteed business loans to determine proper structure and ensure loan closes in accordance with SBA & USDA eligibility requirements. This role involves maintaining an individual pipeline of work, with loans typically having customer exposure up to $1 million. The officer must appropriately assess the eligibility of borrower(s), co-borrower(s), and guarantor(s) to ensure the SBA guarantee can be enforced if needed. The position requires interaction with internal SBA Sales and Operations colleagues to facilitate understanding of the SBA and USDA guaranteed loan programs, understand credit requests, obtain necessary eligibility information, and communicate eligibility decisions and reasoning. The role includes reviewing use of proceeds, ordering SBA Numbers, preparing SBA Loan Authorization and other SBA forms, and ensuring the loan meets all SBA/USDA requirements. It also involves reviewing all reports and information received regarding SBA/USDA eligibility requirements to determine if the terms and conditions of the SBA credit approval will be met, including the review of franchise agreements, purchase agreements, bank notes, and business plans. Additionally, the officer will research and resolve servicing questions from the SBA and internal personnel to ensure the guaranty can be maintained. The role may involve advising Financial Recovery Group (FRG) colleagues in properly working out, liquidating, and litigating SBA loans, and may require submitting final wrap-up reports to the SBA upon resolution. The officer may also serve as the main point of contact to commercial loan servicing colleagues to ensure proper accounting and reporting of all SBA loans (1502 Report). Other tasks as needed to support the line of business and job family will also be performed.
