About The Position

Waukesha State Bank is seeking an experienced SBA Credit Specialist to join its Commercial Lending team. The role combines financial analysis, SBA lending knowledge, and attention to detail to help businesses secure financing. The specialist partners with Commercial Bankers to process, underwrite, close, and service SBA loans, and supports customer relationships and portfolio management. The position also involves collaborating with and mentoring other SBA team members while ensuring compliance with Bank and SBA guidelines.

This is a full-time, onsite position. Employment is contingent upon successfully completing a criminal background check and drug screen.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of loan processing experience.
• A degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• Strong financial analysis, underwriting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.
• Sound judgment and the ability to work independently.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• A collaborative mindset and commitment to exceptional customer service.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of SBA loan programs, regulations, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
• Experience with Jack Henry SilverLake, T-Soft, or Global Wave Credit Track.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Commercial Bankers to process, underwrite, close, and service SBA loans.
• Analyze financial statements, assess credit risk, and prepare comprehensive loan presentations.
• Coordinate loan documentation, third-party reports, and SBA-compliant closing packages.
• Manage existing loan relationships, including renewals, modifications, and ongoing servicing.
• Support customer relationships by assisting with loan requests, closings, and portfolio management.
• Collaborate with and mentor fellow SBA team members while ensuring compliance with Bank and SBA guidelines.
