About The Position

The SB Supply Chain Specialist provides procurement services for assigned SourceBlue clients and projects in accordance with contract documents. The role reviews procurement packages and vendor submissions for compliance, coordinates procurement activities with project stakeholders, monitors budgets and schedules, manages vendor bids and changes, and supports project closeout. The position involves regular work at construction sites, office locations, and off-site venues, as well as travel to project sites and vendor factories. The job may occasionally be performed in an office or remote setting.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited program in Engineering, Construction Management, Building Construction, Supply Chain, or a related field, with at least 4 years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Broad knowledge of construction products, such as architectural, mechanical, and electrical products.
Knowledge of engineering principles and techniques, scheduling, estimating, purchasing, and construction accounting procedures.
Ability to interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and project schedules.
Knowledge of estimating and ability to provide accurate qualitative and quantitative analysis of documents.
Ability to work with limited information and quickly develop an understanding of contracts and requirements.
Project management skills to manage competing demands and meet established deadlines.
Familiarity with continuous improvement methodology.
Professional presentation, delivery, and written communication skills.
Proficiency with computers, Microsoft Office applications, and collaborative tools.
Ability to meet the physical demands described, including climbing stairs and ladders, navigating construction areas, regularly traveling short and long distances, and lifting up to 15 pounds regularly and up to 25 pounds occasionally.
Ability to work at construction sites and comply with company safety policies, procedures, and applicable laws.

Responsibilities

Provide procurement services for assigned SourceBlue clients and projects as defined by contract documents.
Review contract documents, equipment, and procurement packages to confirm compliance with drawings and specifications.
Identify, address, and resolve procurement issues with architects, subcontractors, consultants, suppliers, inspectors, and owner representatives.
Understand and adhere to established project budgets.
Manage project submittals and shop drawings, assess conformance to contract specifications, and resolve interpretation conflicts.
Schedule and manage vendor coordination, preconstruction, and submittal review meetings to support consistent communication and project schedules.
Review scopes of work, coordination matrices, and bid response forms for vendor bid packages.
Receive and level vendor bids and cross-check them against project documents for technical compliance.
Negotiate, document, and manage vendor and client change order requests.
Analyze estimates for vendor requests, approvals, and conflict resolutions, and submit them to a supervisor for approval.
Develop purchase orders, track vendor requirements, and communicate requirements to the centralized SourceBlue team.
Develop and maintain project reports and logs, including budget, cost, equipment tracking, change orders, and closeout.
Perform or contribute to closeout, ensure compliance with contract documents, and prepare final records such as RFIs, warranties, as-builts, O&Ms, attic stock, and spare parts.
Visit project sites and vendor factories to learn about product development and project use.
Perform other assigned activities, duties, and responsibilities.
