About The Position

Homewood & Meeks, a Division of US LBM, is seeking a Part-Time Sawyer to operate and maintain cutting equipment for the CNC/sawyer department. This role involves cutting materials with precision, ensuring equipment functionality, and performing quality assurance inspections on final products. Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Ability to operate equipment such as automated saws/CNC, staplers, nail guns, routers, various saws, and a crane.
Must be able to read a tape measure and use a hammer.
Ability to troubleshoot/problem-solve.
Effective communication within the team and ability to follow instructions.
Ability to maintain a high level of compliance to quality and safety standards.

Nice To Haves

Vocational training in woodworking or machinery preferred.
1-3 years of prior shop experience in component assembly preferred.
Experience in operating cutting machinery preferred.
Hands-on experience in woodworking or carpentry preferred.

Responsibilities

Operate, calibrate, and maintain cutting machines (saws and CNC) to prepare materials including truss, cabinet, roof, floor, door, or panel systems.
Monitor inventory and flow of materials and supplies relating to the assembly process.
Inspect and ensure equipment functionality daily to prevent malfunctions and notify leader of any equipment issues.
Interpret shop drawings and/or computerized production software.
Examine final products to ensure they meet quality standards.
Organize and store materials efficiently.
Collaborate with team members to optimize workflow.
Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Comply with all policies and standards.

Participate in and complete assigned trainings.
