About The Position

Cleveland Gear Company is seeking energetic, highly motivated, and take-charge individuals for a role as 1st Shift Saw Operator. They are a leading manufacturer of high-quality worm gearing, industrial speed reducers and customized gear drives, and are looking for individuals who are seeking a challenging and exciting opportunity to join a well-established, profitable, and growing company. The role involves operating various stations and machines including a Saw, Face and center machine, Crane, Pallet lifter, and Bar chamfering equipment.

Requirements

• One (1) year experience on saw or high school graduate and six (6) months experience
• Safety rules and procedures
• Setup and operation of equipment
• Department procedures
• Must be able to read and write in English
• On-Going Training Requirements
• ISO 9000 requirements

Nice To Haves

• High school graduate
• Two (2) years vocational school
• One (1) year previous saw experience

Responsibilities

• Identify bar stock
• Handle bar stock
• Signoff sheets
• Report non-conforming material
• Report maintenance problems
• Review blueprint revisions
• Sawing, facing and centering
• Record heat lot numbers
• Identify pallets and containers
• Move materials to the next area
