Requirements

  • 1–3 years of experience operating saws or similar manufacturing equipment preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and measurements
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Basic math and measurement skills
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot equipment issues
  • Strong safety awareness

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in metal fabrication or manufacturing environments is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate saws (e.g., band saws, cold saws, circular saws) to cut materials according to work orders and specifications
  • Deburr parts to smooth edges and ensure safe, quality finishes
  • Measure, mark, and verify materials to ensure accurate cuts and minimal waste
  • Adjust machine settings (speed, feed, blade selection) based on material type and thickness
  • Maintain adherence to production schedules and throughput targets
  • Inspect cut materials for accuracy, quality, and conformance to specifications
  • Use measuring tools (tape measures, calipers, squares) to verify dimensions
  • Identify and report defects, inconsistencies, or equipment issues
  • Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with 5S standards
  • Report unsafe conditions, near misses, and safety concerns promptly
  • Perform routine maintenance on saws, including blade changes and lubrication
  • Monitor equipment performance and report maintenance needs
  • Ensure proper storage and handling of materials and tools
  • Load and unload raw materials using appropriate equipment (forklift or crane, if certified)
  • Coordinate with fabrication, machining, and production teams to ensure workflow alignment
  • Assist with inventory tracking and material identification
