About The Position

This position is a Temp-to-Full-Time role focused on leveling steel cores for saw blades. The technician will be responsible for setting up and operating machinery, checking for run out and dish using precision dial indicators, and hammering/smithing blades to meet desired specifications. The role involves ensuring production quality by measuring workpieces, examining for defects, and loading workpieces into machines. The technician will also be responsible for setting up and operating metal straightening machines, monitoring operations, adjusting machine speeds, and maintaining a clean work area.

Requirements

Professional, technical or administrative training; including knowledge of manufacturing methods and techniques, and a broad shop background in a recognized trade, equivalent to a complete accredited apprenticeship training and supervisorial training.
High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate).
A minimum 3 years work-related experience is required.
A minimum of 3 months to adapt to specific job itself.
Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Responsibilities

Set up, operate, or tend machines or tools to level steel cores.
Check run out and dish using precision Dial indicators.
Hammer and smith blades to bring into desired specification.
Measure completed workpieces to verify conformance to specifications, using indicators and micrometers.
Examine completed workpieces for defects, such as chipped edges or marred surfaces and sort defective pieces according to types of flaws.
Read work orders to determine specifications, such as materials to be used, locations of cutting lines, or dimensions and tolerances.
Load workpieces into machines.
Set up, operate, or tend machines to straighten metal.
Start machines, monitor their operations, and record operational data.
Adjust tension for Arga.
Test and adjust machine speeds or actions, according to product specifications, using gauges and hand tools.
Clean machines and keep work area clear of debris.
