About The Position

This position is responsible for operating circle saw and plate saw machines to process parts according to blueprint specifications. The role involves setting up and maintaining equipment, performing quality checks, and ensuring a safe work environment. The operator will also be responsible for basic equipment maintenance and assisting with prototype setups. This role is for the 2nd shift and includes a sign-on bonus.

Requirements

High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Two or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
2-3 years Manufacturing experience.
Familiarity with hand and power tools.
Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills.
Ability to handle physical workload.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Read and interpret blueprints and work operations sheets to determine appropriate operations to be performed.
Set up and operate circle saw and plate saw machines in accordance with print specifications and work instructions to process parts.
Install saw blade and set blade tension and cutting speed for specified operations.
Set stops and guides to control dimensions of cut, using steel rule and wrenches.
Inspect equipment and blade before starting the machine to cut.
Load and unload equipment and materials, manually or with hoist.
Perform equipment maintenance by replacing defective cutting blade or wheel.
Use inspection gauges such as calipers (both dial and vernier), micrometers, squares, and height gauges to perform quality checks on parts as outlined by work instructions.
Correct dimensional problems and approve set-ups by other operators.
Maintain tools, measuring instruments, and equipment in a clean and orderly manner.
Report all equipment problems or malfunctions to the shift supervisor immediately.
Maintain clean, orderly and safe work areas at all times.
Perform set-up for prototype parts and forms according to blueprints and guidelines.
Ability to operate a FANUC machine.
