About The Position
Zingerman's Bakehouse is hiring a Savory Cook to work on our team preparing scratch soups, salads, sandwiches, components, and more to be enjoyed in our local retail shop. This role is for individuals who enjoy bringing food to social gatherings, believe in the power of a grilled cheese sandwich, and find joy in making food look mouth-watering. The position offers a welcoming workplace, an active and physical job, fun and engaged teammates, and opportunities for growth within the company. Requirements
- Ability to stand, lift and bend for up to 8-hours, with breaks
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly
- Ability to work with repetitive motion including fine manipulation of hands and fingers
- Full availability in November and December
Responsibilities
- Slicing, dicing, stirring and frying
- Making grilled cheese sandwiches to order
- Preparing, weighing, and measuring spices for scratch soups, dressings, and components
- Piping, frying, and glazing French Crullers
- Carefully and quickly assembling, packaging, and labeling sandwiches and salads for the grab-and-go case
- Processing and prepping raw meats and produce
