About The Position

Performs installation maintenance and repair of telecommunications systems. This role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing satellite systems, as well as maintaining telecommunications equipment. The technician will also install, rearrange, and remove equipment and associated wiring. A key part of the job is interpreting service orders, circuit diagrams, and electrical schematics, and testing, locating, and repairing equipment problems associated with trouble calls, while also performing routine maintenance. The role requires verifying work order information and ensuring receipt of all necessary equipment and information, while maintaining current knowledge of relevant technologies and participating in special projects as needed.

Requirements

  • Must meet the certification requirement on the SPIN-C or individual task order.
  • 8+ years of related telecommunications experience.
  • Intermediate “hands on” work experience in support of installations, repair, and troubleshooting or maintenance of communications systems or equipment.
  • Must have the technical knowledge to solve complex problems, understand the interrelationships of circuits, and be able to exercise independent judgment in performing tasks in support of SATCOM systems or equipment.
  • Intermediate experience working with DSCS or Commercial Satellite Terminals as specified in the task order to include: X, C, KA, Ku-band, Tri-band Satellite Terminals, FDMA, TDMA, IP Type satellite modems
  • Secret Clearance

  • Associates Degree in a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training or work experience.
