About The Position

Peraton is seeking a motivated Satellite Operations Controller in Colorado Springs, Colorado, to support the Front Range Operations and Sustainment Team (FROST) program. This role provides satellite support services to a mission-critical Government customer. The FROST program conducts real-time on-orbit support, launch ascent support, and End-of-Life operations. The Satellite Operations Controller will serve as the single operational and engineering interface to the Satellite Control Network (SCN) for the customer. The work is performed at Schriever Garrison and involves performing satellite operations and health checks on satellite systems.

Requirements

  • US Citizenship required.
  • High School Diploma/GED and 5 years of related experience with Satellite Operations, including military or civilian training and experience.
  • Must have an active TS/SCI with a POLY.
  • Must be willing to work shifts as required to support mission operations.

Responsibilities

  • Establishing voice, messaging, and data communications for multiple-satellite programs of varying priorities and classifications.
  • Configuration and monitoring of displays for computer and network equipment during normal mission operations.
  • Multi-program coordination and scheduling using custom software tools.
  • Determination of any anomalous condition and providing corrective actions as required.
  • Generation of downtime reports and other associated documentation for operational outages.
  • Support to various operations status, engineering review, and problem boards.
  • Identification of areas of concern, issues, inefficiencies, and other non-value-added activities, as well as providing recommended solutions.
  • Supporting site operations to ensure quality, safety, and compliance requirements are maintained as described in the Performance Work Statement (PWS)/Statement of Work (SOW), site-specific Occupational Safety and Health Administration publications, and local/state policies/regulations.
  • Supporting the FROST Managers to ensure a collaborative relationship is maintained with our Prime and government customer.
  • Maintaining a team presence 24 hours per day, seven (7) days per week, and 365/366 days per year, including federal holidays.
