About The Position

Five Rivers Analytics, an Akima Company, is seeking a Satellite Controller Technician (Trainee) in Kaena Point, HI. This role involves executing actions for satellite operations and maintenance to sustain the operability of communications-electronics equipment located at the Remote Tracking Stations (RTS). Requirements

  • Must possess an Active Secret clearance, or higher.
  • Associate's degree in Electronics, or equivalent experience in lieu of degree.
  • Must possess strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Must be familiar with the use of and be able to operate electronic test equipment to include multimeters, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, frequency counters, signal generators, power meters, and data analyzers.
  • Must be able to climb high ladders, work on elevated platforms and antennas.
  • Must be able to perform strenuous physical work to include walking, lifting, pulling loads, bending, kneeling, sitting and reaching overhead.
  • Must have COMPTIA Cloud + and/or SEC + or be able to obtain certification within 6 months of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with LINUX is preferred.
  • Experience interfacing w/ Military personnel and government customer.

Responsibilities

  • Configures, operates and maintains assigned systems during satellite support, test, and maintenance activities.
  • Initiates, directs and verifies completion of all operational events during the acquisition, tracking and commanding functions of each operational support.
  • Maintains cognizance of station equipment status.
  • Repairs and aligns all equipment in accordance with TOs/TMs or commercial manuals.
  • Ensures Preventive Maintenance Inspection (PMI) activities are accomplished as scheduled.
  • Maintains vehicle folders.
  • Prepare daily activity log entries.
  • Performs all required systems administration on mission related equipment.
