SAT Tutor

Texas Sports Academy Main
Remote

About The Position

Texas Sports Academy is hiring an expert SAT Tutor to lead test preparation for our student-athletes. This is a senior role with full ownership of the SAT preparation arc — diagnostic through test day — for a roster of motivated students preparing for competitive college admissions. The position is fully remote, which allows us to recruit the most accomplished tutors in the country regardless of geography. We are seeking a practitioner with a defined methodology, a current command of the digital SAT, and a verifiable record of producing significant, repeatable score gains. The selection criteria are weighted toward demonstrated student outcomes rather than tenure or institutional affiliation.

Requirements

  • A defined tutoring methodology developed over substantial experience with the SAT, with the ability to walk through specific student arcs and articulate how preparation decisions were made.
  • A verifiable record of significant, repeatable score gains — the kind of progression that meaningfully expands a student's college options. Candidates should be prepared to discuss documented before-and-after results in detail.
  • Score progression driven by direct teaching and live diagnosis rather than self-directed workbook completion. Homework supports instruction; it does not replace it.
  • Working expertise in the current digital SAT, including the Bluebook environment, adaptive module mechanics, the scoring algorithm, and recurring College Board question patterns. Continued investment in staying current as the test evolves.
  • Personal SAT score of 1500 or above, or 99th-percentile equivalent on the ACT or legacy SAT, with verification available.
  • Dedicated workspace, reliable internet connection, second monitor, and a document camera or tablet for live problem-solving on screen.
  • U.S. work authorization required.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience tutoring student-athletes or students balancing demanding training and competition schedules.
  • Verifiable score reports, testimonials, or references from prior families.
  • Working understanding of college admissions timelines and the role of standardized testing within the broader application.
  • Proprietary materials, drills, or methodology developed and refined over time.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct remote SAT sessions across all sections of the digital SAT — Reading and Writing, Math (Module 1), and Math (Module 2) — designed to produce measurable progression each week.
  • Administer a full-length diagnostic test for every new student and build a week-by-week preparation plan tied to a target score and target test date.
  • Teach content mastery and test strategy in parallel each session, including algebra, advanced mathematics, evidence-based reading, grammar and conventions, pacing, elimination logic, and College Board question patterns.
  • Assign and review focused homework between sessions, including section drills, problem sets, and timed full-length practice tests, and adjust the plan based on performance.
  • Maintain a regular reporting cadence with parents that includes section-level data, score progression, areas of focus, and recommended next steps.
  • Lead final-week preparation, including pacing strategy, anxiety management, and the test-day routine.
