About The Position

The SAT Testing Technician is responsible for administering drug testing services in accordance with the procedures that are outlined by New Paths, Inc per the organization’s contractual obligations. This role involves conducting urine drug testing, maintaining an organized and clean work environment, documenting tests, completing paperwork, and potentially providing legal testimony. The technician also serves as a communication link between referral sources and New Paths, processes medications, and manages inventory of medical supplies.

Requirements

  • Demonstrate clear and concise writing abilities, with the capability to compile legible, accurate records to be submitted to the Department of Corrections.
  • Demonstrate ability to use the applicable computer programs and software, and provide accurate and timely data entry functions.
  • Must be organized and have good communication skills.
  • Successful completion of required urine testing training as provided by New Paths, Inc.
  • Demonstrate the ability to interact appropriately with the individual’s served, with the Department of Correction’s staff as well as other referral sources as needed.
  • Skill in communicating with a variety of people from varying backgrounds.
  • Must be self-motivated to complete tasks and be able to work independently.
  • Must be detail oriented.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of or education in human services and/or criminal justice system.
  • Previous experience in passing/assisting with medication.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct urine drug testing for individuals referred to New Paths, Inc
  • Execute job duties in a manner that places a high value on the integrity of the individual served
  • Maintain an organized and clean work environment.
  • Document each test consistently and according to the policies and procedures to protect the validity of the test result.
  • Complete all required paperwork/data entry, completely and efficiently, as required by new Paths and contract holders.
  • If necessary, provide legal testimony in court, regarding urine drop procedures.
  • Serve as a communication link between Department of Corrections and/or other referral sources and New Paths.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the SAT Supervisor.
  • Medication processing. This includes accurately entering medications, times, and instructions into the computer system.
  • Assist clients with medications at designated med times. This includes but not limited to calling in refills, assisting with taking medications, client follow up on missed medications, etc.
  • Purge out medications of discharged clients.
  • Serve as communication link between clients and their designated pharmacy.
  • Maintain inventory of client medications, over the counter medications, first aid items and other Health & Safety inventory medical needs.
  • Communicate and coordinate the services and pick up sharps, biohazardous material, and pharmaceutical waste and packaging materials.
  • Support and adhere to the NPI Code of Ethics, work rules, policies, plans and procedures to promote a safe and secure environment for the residents, visitors, and employees of New Paths
