About The Position

Summit Educational Group, a Guidewell Education brand, is hiring part-time In-Person Tutors for SAT and ACT test preparation in the Greater Hartford, CT Area. This role is ideal for individuals with teaching, classroom experience, or transferable skills in research, engineering, law, consulting, training, or instructional design. Requirements

• A Completed Bachelor's Degree.
• Strong academic background and content mastery in tutoring subjects, demonstrated by a passing score on our short pre-interview SAT/ACT content quiz.
• Willingness to tutor during after-school hours and weekends.
• Reliable transportation for consistent in-person sessions.
• A genuine commitment to helping students succeed and confidence in your ability to be a mentor.

Nice To Haves

• Classroom Teaching Experience - Tutors in the Hartford Area will need to teach classes during the fall and/or spring semesters.
• Professional Backgrounds with strong analytical and communication skills (e.g., Accounting, Finance, Data Science, Engineering).

Responsibilities

• Deliver one-on-one, in-person tutoring for SAT/ACT prep and/or high school academic subjects.
• Teach at one area school per semester, where available.
• Travel reliably to students’ homes within a 30-45 minute radius of your location.
• Tailor lesson plans based on students' individual goals, learning styles, and mock test results.
• Maintain open, clear communication with students, families, and the Summit team.
• Timely completion of session reports and scheduling updates.
• Participate in required paid training and professional development.
