About The Position

GradePower Learning Parker is seeking a part-time, upbeat, reliable, enthusiastic, and dynamic tutor to help students succeed on their SAT/ACT exams. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about English and/or mathematics, eager to work in a rewarding teaching environment with 9th to 12th grade students of all levels. The primary focus is on teaching Language Arts, with experience in mathematics being a plus but not required. Prior SAT/ACT tutoring experience is not necessary, as instructors will be trained on the exam content. The position involves pre-planning based on student assessment scores and requires a commitment until the end of the term in June. Schedules are flexible weekly, based on student enrollment and tutoring needs, with a combination of virtual and in-person classes, predominantly in-person. A background check is required.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant field
• College students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered
• Strong knowledge of the current 9th to 12th grade language arts curriculum
• Strong English grades
• Some experience teaching/tutoring Language Arts at a 9th to 12th grade (or equivalent) level
• Strong English written and oral communication skills
• Ability to guide students’ understanding
• Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time
• Must be able to commute to the Parker location
• Must score proficiently on the practice SAT
